High-viz neon green Zip installed on vintage American Apparel denim. A company that filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy not once, but twice now lives on as part of the up-cycle ecosystem.
On most Zeans, previous branding is removed. However, in this case a tag was kept as a tribute. At its peak, American Apparel was a champion of ethical labor practices, producing all its clothing in Los Angeles. This was a standout feature in a market dominated by fast fashion brands that outsourced production.
